Designed by Sassona Norton, the Montgomery County’s 911 memorial honors those who died in the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The memorial is cast in bronze and features a set of hands which hold a 16-foot piece of twisted steel from the wreckage of the World Trade Center. The base of the statue reads: “September 11, 2001. The Many Who Died. The Many Who Fought. Memories Never Die.”
