Morrisonville – Brian S. Falb, 47, of Wildflower Lane, Morrisonville, died peacefully, Monday, March 13, 2017 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family, friends and co-workers by his side.  Brian's passing was from brain cancer, directly related to inhalation of toxic air at the site of the September 11, 2011 terror attack at the World Trade Center.

Brian was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY, May 19, 1969, the son of Jack Falb and the former Andrea Gaffney.  Brian grew up on Long Island and graduated from Sachem High School in 1987.  He received an Associate Business Degree from SUNY Cobleskill and later a Bachelor Degree in Communications from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Though Brian came to the North Country for college, fate had other plans.  While in Plattsburgh, he met the love of his life, the former Mary Buttery.  They were married October 22, 1994 in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Brian began with the New York State Police Academy in 1998.  After graduation, he returned to Troop B where he spent his career.  During this time, Brian participated in the 2016 Man Hunt, the 2012 detail for Hurricane Sandy in Long Island, the 2005 Hurricane Katrina detail in New Orleans and he was a first responder for the 9/11 terror attack at the World Trade Center.  Brian was a loyal and dedicated friend to all of his co-workers.  He was respected for many reasons, but especially because of how he treated other people.

Brian was a family man, through and through.  When away from work, Brian's joy revolved around his wife and children.  Brian was their biggest fan and biggest supporter.  With his family always by his side, Brian had the best time attending concerts, traveling and always cheering on his children at a number of sporting events.  He was so proud of every single one of their accomplishments.

Left to cherish the memory of Brian are, his loving wife of 26 years, Mary Falb; his loving children, Morgan, Peyton, Sydney, and Brian Scott, Jr.; his mother, Andrea Gaffney of Florida; sister, Jaclyn Falb of Long Island, New York; sister, Gina DeStefano and her husband Ronnie DeStefano; sister-in-law, Janet Elwell and sons, Scott and Matthew Elwell of Boston, Massachusetts; parents-in-law, William and Elaine Buttery of Plattsburgh, New York; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; many friends; and two devoted canine companions, Ellie Rae and Jax Grey.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Jack Falb; and brother, William Elwell.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1 to 5 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Peter's Church with Monsignor Dennis J. Duprey, parish priest, celebrating.
