I am an 11 year old student living in Huntsville Alabama and my reading class at school is studying September 11 2001. I remembered seeing a sign above the Grissom High School band room entrance in memory of you and hearing about the annual Max Hammond concert so I chose you for my 9/11 victim biography. It is hard to believe what happened on 9/11 and my family and I send our greatest sympathies to you and your family.

I knew Max when he lived in California- we were scrutineers for the Sports Car Club of America. I would see him practically every race weekend. He moved back east and ironically was on his way out west on that fateful day. to this day I wear a pin in his honor on my hat when I am at the racetrack. We sure do miss you my friend.
