My brother was a great and outstanding person to know. He is one reason I am also police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department. I wanted to take after my big brother. He is loved and truly missed by our entire family. Taken too soon. Rest in paradise until we meet again.

Biography:

Retired New York Police Department Officer Derrick Bishop passed away Sept. 19 from cancer related to his response to the World Trade Center on 9/11. He was 60 years old. Bishop served 21 years on the force. He leaves behind a wife, Patricia, and daughters Dominique and Chanel.
