I have known Gabriella's name for twelve years. I was given it by a teacher in my high school. She wanted to ensure we never forgot what happened on September 11th. Her name is etched in my memory. I think about her and her family, pray for them every year. I can't imagine the loss. Gabriella's name at the very least stays with me and I am sure I missed out in never knowing her.

We went to school together she was in a different sorority from me I didn’t know her well but I remember everyone spoke highly of her her sorority nickname was mortician I think because she always wore black. I was devastated to here that she was a victim that awful day it is even more heartbreaking to realize that any other day she wouldn’t have been there. I think of her often & when her name is read each year I say a prayer for her.

RIP we shall never forget

I knew Gabby fairly well. She was dating my brother-in-law previous to her passing. I got married on 9/8/01. Gabby in previous weeks before my wedding gave me a beautiful plate with a cute picture of a little girl and boy. The plate was designed by Estelle Gettes. My husband at the time was J Console. We were scheduled to fly out on 9/11/01 to Antigua, Sandal's Resort out of JFK airport. I had to reschedule our flight to 910/11 for family reasons. Our luggage was delayed and we had no clothes for our stay at the resort.

The morning of 9/11/01, my husband and I went for our breakfast and then to the gift shop at Sandal's Resort. We had heard the woman at the register screaming. When we rushed over to the register the woman was pointing to her small television screen. It showed an airplane had hit the North Tower of the WTC. After trying to keep ourselves calm and calming down the woman at the register. We went back to our room. As we reached our room and turned on the television, the second plane had struck the South Tower of the WTC and I felt like I was about to collapse. Clearly this was an attack on the US. We could not reach our families to make sure everyone was safe.

The next morning my mother-in-law. She finally got through. She told us what was going on in NYC. She said that my brother-in-law had received a call from Gabby's sister and that Gabby was in the North Tower. Hearing this, my heart was in the pit of my stomach. I cried to hard and am crying as I write this memorial. We fought to get back to NYC/JFK airport on Saturday. All flights were on standby. We finally arrived in NJ Liberty Airport as there were no flights to NYC. It was a terrible flight and many turbulents. I was terrified. We finally reached our home. I literally attended Gabby's memorial service almost three weeks after 9/11. I can not tell you how I felt that morning. I remember meeting Gabby's mother, father and sister and her family. I still have that plate of the little boy and girl. I Will Never Forget You Gabby. Never Forget. Prayers to your family during this 25th 9/11 Memorial. We never forget the people we love. Thank you to this memorial page of Gabby for letting me write my story about Gabby.
