I met Jack here in my home of Bermuda while he his wife and close friends were here on vacation in July 2001. I was only a few years into the Fire Service in Bermuda at the time and as many new firefighters would've. I looked up to him with high regard respect and admiration. He had accomplished so much in his calling to the Fire Service and had gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that I could only dream of achieving a fraction of it. Although I only met and spent a very short time with Jack he left an impression that will last forever. Very often i think of him and his family and am thankful that I had the honour of meeting them. After all these years it still seems like yesterday that i had the pleasure of meeting him. To his wife and family you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
