Gaff, 51, was raised in Westampton and worked with insurance broker Aon Corp. on the 102nd floor of the south tower at the World Trade Center. Gaff was a 1968 graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly and was one of the first students to enroll in Burlington County College when it opened the next year. After earning an associate degree in accounting from BCC, she transferred to Rider University, where she received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration.

Gaff went on to become one of the first female accountants hired by Hess Oil Co. She also worked as an accountant with Revlon, Christian Dior and Christian Lacroix before accepting a position with Aon. Family members said she worked for Aon for 10 years and was scheduled to become a vice president with the company in April 2002.
