Paul Furmato, 37, was a resident of Colts Neck, New Jersey for the past 8 years. He was born and raised in Hillsdale, New Jersey and graduated from Pascack Valley High in 1982. He graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1986. He fell in love with his wife, Cindy, at this college and they were married on September 19, 1987. Paul and Cindy made their home in Colts Neck where thy raised their three beautiful children, Paul Jr., Stephanie, and Theresa. Paul is, also, survived by his parents, Joseph and Margaret of Point Pleasant, his brothers Joseph Jr., of Point Pleasant and Mark of Brielle, and sisters Carol DeBenedictis, of Point Pleasant and Jill Keough of Westwood. Fishing was a life-long passion of Paul’s. He had a love for the sea. He started fishing as a young boy in Point Pleasant with his brothers and continued fishing throughout his life with his entire family. His boat, Quality Time, won the South Jersey Yacht Tournament in Cape May, New Jersey last year. Winning this tournament with his crew, Mark, Joseph, Drew, and Brian, was one of his happiest and proudest moments. Paul enjoyed his work as a Vice President and an Institutional Sales Trader for Cantor Fitzgerald. He had a great deal of respect and admiration for the men he worked with and for his accounts. Besides work, Paul dedicated himself to coaching his son, Paul Jr.’s baseball and basketball teams in Colts Neck. He wanted all of the boys on his team to learn and build confidence in themselves through playing sports. He called each boy his “buddy” and rooted for them as if they were his own children. Paul was a devoted son, grandson, brother, husband, father, employee, coach and friend. He was a man of few words and simple needs who was always kind, caring, and strong. He was loving, tolerant and humble and sought out perfection in everything he did. His family was his strength and his love. He lived to give all of us everything he could. We will miss him always.

You are part of my fondest
You are part of my fondest college memories. I often think about those long, late night walks, talking and planning our futures. I regret that we all lost touch in the years after FIT.
