Rich Bosco LOVED the game. He played hard and was dedicated to his family, his team and friends. Rich would be honored to have young athletes in this tournament which bears his name. He was born on January 19, 1967 in Queens, NY. Sports taught the skills of leadership, teamwork and organization; important elements for success in life. Rich had a love for life that was contagious. If you were with Rich you were on your feet and moving, he was a spark plug. He loved competition… but was always ready to give advice to help you in your game. He loved to “joke around” with teammates and enjoyed a prank or two on the school bus returning home after an away game. Rich played one year of basketball at SUNY Geneseo and graduated in 1989 with an economics degree. He returned to Rockland County in 2000 with his wife Traci and children, Richie Jr. and Abby. He commuted to NYC and played in basketball leagues in Manhattan and Ridgewood, NJ. On September 11, 2001 he had an early morning meeting with Cantor Fitzgerald in WTC 1 along with three colleagues from Citibank. Although his life was cut short, he would want us to continue to play the second half. It is the intention of the Bosco family and faculty at Suffern High School to bring from our tragedy a new hope for the future and appreciation of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. To our young players today Rich would say….Play Your Best!
