Robert J. Agostini, 54, of Oakhurst, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. A Battalion Chief with North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, Battalion 1 of the 3rd platoon, he retired after 25 years of service. He was also a 911 First Responder. Born in Jersey City, Robert was a 1977 graduate of Weehawken High School. He attended the Delhi School of Architecture and Design in Delhi, NY and received a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science from New Jersey City University. He owned and operated Agco Sales, a home improvement business in Union City, prior to becoming a firefighter. He enjoyed cooking, landscaping, and drumming in his spare time. Robert was predeceased by his father, Italo Agostini who passed away in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Susan Zampini Agostini of Oakhurst; his children, Alexandra and Nico, both at home; his mother, Concetta Malanka Agostini of Allenhurst; and his sister, Constance Agostini of Weehawken.
