Dedicated to:

Remembering the West Milford Twp residents who died by acts of terrorosm on September 11th 2001.

About:

"West Milford, like the rest of the country, was stunned on September 11, 2001, when terrrorists used three planes to attack the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and hijacked a fourth plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania countryside.

While we grieved with the entire nation, we also shed tears for our five fallen neighbors who left their families for work that day never to return. Our thoughts and prayers for them and their families, further united our community with compassion.

The Reverend Mychal Judge died at the World Trade Center, while ministering to the victims of the of the disaster. Father Judge served six years as a pastor in West Milford before joining the New York City Fire Department as chaplain.

Jean Caviaso DePalma, Michael J. Zinzi, and T.J. Hargrave were all West Milford residents who also perished in the Twin Towers.
Jean Caviasco DePalma was survived by two children.
Michael J. Zinzi left a wife and a two-month-old son.
T.J. Hargrave was survived by a wife and three children.
Jeremy Glick will be forever remembered for his heroism in standing up to terrorists aboard the hijacked plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Jeremy Glick was survived by a wife and an eleven-week-old daughter.

A little bit of each of us died on September 11, 2001.
We will never forget.

West Milford businesses and residents donated the material, labor, and funds to create this monument. We have planted our hearts together, here in this garden of memories."
