Stewart Harris was proud that he had survived the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, and he often wore a T-shirt proclaiming that fact.
His wife, Sheila Solomon Harris, was looking forward to getting him a second T-shirt after last Tuesday's terrorist attack. Mr. Harris, an executive with Cantor Fitzgerald, was at his desk on the 101st floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center when the first hijacked plane hit. He has been missing since.
On Sunday, the family, including Mr. Harris' two children, Craig and Elissa, will be holding a memorial service at the Marlboro Jewish Center in Marlboro.
"We want to celebrate the life of our beloved husband and father," said Sheila Harris, Mr. Harris' wife of 22 years.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Stewart D. Harris, 52, moved to Marlboro in 1983. He received a master's degree in finance from Long Island University and for the past 20 years was the chief credit officer for Cantor Fitzgerald.
Mr. Harris was a member of Temple Rodeph Torah in Marlboro and was an assistant coach for many years with the Marlboro recreation and travel soccer team. He also served in the National Guard in the early 1970s.
"He was a good friend to everyone," said neighbor Sandy Pollock. "He always had a smile on his face."
In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Harris' family includes his parents, R. Jay and Mildred Horowitz Harris of Monroe Township; and a brother, Lloyd Harris of East Meadow, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Marlboro Jewish Center's Chai Building on Topanemus Road in Marlboro.
