Dear Roberts family,
I am writing this because I look up to people like your loved one who passed on that tragic day in September 2001. He is a hero to all of us. When ever one ran out he ran in. He was a brave courageous soul. I can only wish to be as big of a man as he was.

I recently relocated to North Carolina. I wanted you to know that I ran a 9/11 5k memorial this morning in Mooresville NC carrying a picture of Michael Ladder 35. I didn't know Michael or your family but I wanted you to know his memory was honored again today. We will never forget.

Your face had a kindness to it and I felt compelled to write a brief message. I cannot thank you enough for your bravery that day. I never knew you but my eyes are full of tears...
Be at peace.
