Hello, my name is Joey and I am a sophomore in high school doing an assignment about the people lost during 9/11. We randomly chose our person and I chose Rahma. I wanted to offer my condolences to anyone who wishes to read this, because Rahma's life was one that was very inspiring, but also hard to learn about. I am so deeply sorry for the family and friends who had to grieve over Rahma and Michaels's death.

Sincerely,
Joey

Rahma was a patient in the Ob/Gyn office where I worked. She was extremely nice and always very pleasant. The Thursday or Friday before 9/11 she came to the office and requested a letter for permission to fly (you cannot fly after 36 weeks of pregnancy) I provided that letter for her. To this day I wish that I had not. For a long time I felt like her death was my fault. Every year I pray for her and her husband and their unborn child. I also pray for her family because I know this must have been a horrible tragedy to endure. I’ve been to the 9/11 memorial in NYC specifically to look for her and her husbands picture. RIP Michael, Rhama and Baby Theodoridis.

Biography:

Rahma Theodoridis-Salie was a passenger of American Airlines Flight 11. She died when the airplane flew into World Trade Center I. Salie was chief operating officer at Conini. She was seven months pregnant. Rahma was married to Michael Theodoridis, who also died during the attacks.

Salie was from Sri Lanken descent and was raised in Japan. Her Muslim faith was a very important part of her life. Her husband Michael converted himself to Islam, when they married in 1998. Salie became pregnant in winter 2000-2001. Tragically, the lives of Salie, Michael and their unborn child were taken from them in a event that would change history.
