Every year I take time to reflect on our time at Norfolk State University living in our own “Twin Tower” in the freshman dorm on the 5th floor. Your signature red lipstick and leather jacket. I remember the weekend you went home with me to visit my parents to the country. We stopped by the road and you actually picked a piece of cotton growing in the field. I remember the look on your face like this is really cotton. You were a good friend. My heart was saddened when I found out you died and to have a young baby. I often think of him and pray now as a young man he will be told of the wonderful person you are. I also pray and think of your mother and her tenacity to keep your memory as vibrant as your mom’s red lipstick alive. Fly high with the angels fellow Spartan!!
