After the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I saw an Instagram post of someone running a mile for each life lost. I was inspired and so now I am hiking a mile to honor the lives lost on that day, a day to never forget and lives to never forget.

Today, on 10/14/2026, I hiked a mile in honor of Shabbir Ahmed.

It made me smile when I read he was more vigilant about fishing than he was pulling weeds in the garden.

God bless.
