Well it's now been almost 10
Well it's now been almost 10 years since this horrible event took my "little brother" and I miss having him here with us very much. Something that I think was very special to both Patrick and I (and also very special to my children Kristin Tommy and Sarah) was our fishing trips together on the Bay of Long Beach Island. This was the place where Patrick and I truly got to know each other and re-establish our closeness as adults (I was almost 8 years older and wasn't around much when he was growing up) and also where my children got the chance to really know their Uncle Patrick. So I wanted to post some pictures that will help me and others understand the special "fishing" moments we had with Patrick.
Love,
Tom

Patrick was my boss in the UVA dorms my first year on resident staff, his fourth and final year at the University. I admired and appreciated him and would be honored to write a letter to be included in his children's memory book. Please let me know if they are still being collected and if it would be possible to mail a handwritten letter. I think of Patrick every time a see a pair of Chuck Taylors - especially orange ones. And I may have a momento or two in my old college scrapbooks of a staff meeting or staff party and would be happy to include that as well. I am glad to have known him.

I grew up in the same town as Patrick, going to school with the Murphy kids, they were such an omnipresence. The Murphy's were always so alive and involved in sports, music, politics. Years ago, I came upon a 9/11 memorial on LBI with his name on it, and I paused to reflect on what I was seeing. This couldn't be. To this day, it all still seems unreal. I visit that memorial often, and think of all the wonderful Omnipresent people we lost that day 20 years ago.
