Elizabeth touched my heart the most. She was not ready to face her death but after the conversation with her Mom, she found a sense of peace. I do not believe the passengers felt pain at impact. God took them before they hit the ground to His kingdom where there’s no more pain or suffering. God rest these brave and courageous souls.

Biography:

Just home from a long-awaited trip to Europe, Honor Elizabeth Wainio was traveling on September 11 to a company-wide business meeting for Discovery Channel Stores. After graduating from Towson University, “Lizz,” as her friends called her, found her niche in retail, quickly rising from sales positions to management. After joining Discovery’s retail division, she became a top-performing manager and was promoted to District Manager for New York and New Jersey. Wainio recently relocated to New Jersey, but remained connected with family and friends in her beloved Baltimore. During the hijacking of Flight 93, Wainio phoned her stepmother who recalls her words, “They're getting ready to break into the cockpit. I have to go. I love you. Good-bye.” Wainio was survived by her parents, stepparents, and siblings.
