I am a Senior and I am doing a project on Elkin Yuen. I would like to send my condolences to his family and the people who loved him so much. And to any family or friends of Elkin Yuen I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi Elkin,

I want to share some news with you that would absolutely shock you even if you were still walking the earth to witness it- the year is 2026, and your New York Knicks are NBA Champions.

I’ll wait for you to process that.

On my way back from the parade, I saw that someone who knew you walked to the engraved letters of your memorial at the site where you went to work and your life was unjustly taken, and- 25 years after the fact- adorned them with blue and orange confetti.

I didn’t know you, but I’ve lost friends who I now won’t get to celebrate this joyous day with, and it brings me tremendous closure to see that you are not forgotten, you are still loved and cherished, and that the joy sweeping our city today was shared with you by those who knew you best.
