About:
The memorial is built around two steel girders from the World Trade Center. A five-sided design is incorporated into the pattern of the project to honor those who were lost at the Pentagon. A torch of liberty shines an eternal flame to honor the passengers on Flight 93, emergency responders, and the men and women who defend our nation. The names of the 60 men and women from Union County who lost their lives on 9/11 are engraved on a stainless steel plaque mounted on a block of granite.
