It was like a gift that we had spent the Sunday prior to 9/11 together at the church bbq i will never forget how truly special of a person you were. I know how much you are missed.

Janet, a message from Marsh colleague in London, England. We spoke so many times about Lotus Notes. Your help and advice was valued. I never met you and Alva but I remember you both at this sad anniversary and at random times. I like to listen to the recording of the names read out so I can hear you and Alva being remembered. I will never forget you both. Michelle x

After the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I saw an Instagram post of someone running a mile for each life lost. I was inspired and so now I am hiking a mile to honor the lives lost on that day, a day to never forget and lives to never forget.

On 10/27/2026, I hiked a mile in honor of Janet M. Alonso.

I have read so many wonderful things about this incredible woman. Reading the following made me teary-eyed, it captured how loved Janet was.

Robert was overwhelmed at the outpouring of love for Janet after the disaster. He received calls and faxes from her colleagues around the world. At Christmas, delivery trucks pulled in all day with flowers, toys for the children, and baskets of food. 'It was unbelievable.'

God bless Janet and her loved ones.
