About:

The physical memorial area is comprised of a walkway leading to a wall with the names of the 75 Rockland County residents and friends. Following the walkway is a timeline made of granite blocks that give the timing and information of major events on 9/11. The pathway opens up onto the wall, which takes up a corner of a large paved area, with an empty space signifying the emptiness left behind by the loss of their neighbors. Standing to the side is a 20 foot piece of warped WTC steel.

The Rockland County American Patriot Garden is set in its current position due to its historical link to the building of New York City, unmatched beauty, and accessibility to the Hudson River. It is unique because of the availability of picnic facilities, open air pavilion, playgrounds, public boat launch, fishing pier, nature trails, a 9.5 acre freshwater pond, and approximately 2,350 feet of Hudson River shoreline that connect Rockland with New York City and the rest of the world. The park was also within sight of the two passenger planes (United Airlines Flight 11 and American Airlines Flight 91) as they were headed for New York City on September 11, 2001. A piece of steel from WTC site is included.
