The children of the Spring Valley Bruderhof School have transformed a delapidated barn southeast of Sommerset, Pennsylvania, into a major Flight 93 memorial called the “Peace Barn.”

Purpose: To provide an expression of patriotism and pride about being an American and to teach young people the value of honoring and preserving the beauty of our land.

The Forestry Club wanted to honor the tragic events of 9-11-01 in the form of a living memorial. These trees were dedicated in memory of lives lost and there is nothing quite like it on campus.

The Heroes Garden was created to honor the memory of Americans who lost their lives to terrorists on 9-11-01, and particularly to honor Pepperdine alumnus Thomas E.

Amtrak employees in the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia erected a memorial in October 2001 using WTC steel.
