VOICES 17th Annual
Day of Remembrance Information Forum

Reflecting, Remembering, and Inspiring a Resilient Community

Monday, September 10, 2018

On the eve of the Anniversary, VOICES hosted our 17th Annual Day of Remembrance Information Forum: Reflecting, Remembering, and Inspiring a Resilient Community. This year, we were honored to have Former Manager of the New York Mets Bobby Valentine and ESPN host Mike Greenberg discuss sports in the aftermath of 9/11.

Beginning with a We Remember Ceremony, candles were lit to honor the lives lost and recognize the many individuals who continue to support the 9/11 community. As in years past, the representatives from the World Trade Center Health Program provided updates on treatment for medical and psychological conditions. Legal experts and victims’ advocates discussed victim compensation programs and progress made since the enactment of JASTA. Clinicians with decades of professional experience shared their expertise about mental health treatment, helping children and adults cope with loss, and building strength and resiliency.

The afternoon began with peer-to-peer roundtable discussions and continued with presentations from Hicks Wogan and Allison Blais from the National September 11th Memorial Museum. Hicks provided insight on the new Comeback Season: Sports After 9/11 exhibit and Allison presented an overview of the 9/11 Memorial Glade. Thanks to the generosity of the 9/11 Memorial Museum, attendees visited the Museum following the Information Forum.

A special thank you to the dedicated professionals who took the time out of their busy schedules to participate in the Information Forum and to our co-sponsor the FealGood Foundation.
