In the aftermath of traumatic events, both individuals and communities can be empowered through culturally appropriate interventions that support resiliency and recovery. In this presentation, innovative models for effective trauma treatment and crisis interventions will be discussed. Participants will gain an understanding of the short and long-term consequences of traumatic events, and develop skills in managing reactions, and practicing self-care strategies.
