Our Voices Together
A Peer Support Gathering in Anticipation of the 25th Anniversary
Thursday, April 23rd - 7:00pm EST
As we approach the 25th Anniversary of September 11th, many of our members are reporting a range of emotions — reflection, grief, anxiety, uncertainty, or something harder to name. In whatever way you are experiencing the anticipation of this milestone, you do not have to carry it alone.
Join us for a virtual gathering of fellow family members, responders, and survivors to connect, converse, and support one another. Together, we will:
- Share space to reflect on what 25 years means personally and collectively
- Talk through options for commemorating the anniversary
- Discuss considerations around traveling to New York
- Make room for the complicated feelings that can arise in anticipation
We will begin with a discussion as one large community, then move into smaller breakout groups organized by your connection to 9/11 (family members, responders, survivors), so participants can process with others who share similar lived experience. Following the break-out groups, we will gather again as one community. The groups will be facilitated by clinician, Suzanne Phillips PhD, her colleagues from the American Group Psychological Association (AGPA) and VOICES professional staff.
There is no right way to feel as this anniversary approaches. This is simply a space to show up as you are — and to be with people who understand.
