Hillary Rodham Clinton

Voices Center for Resilience (VOICES) is honored to announce that Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton will join us in conversation on Thursday, September 10th at VOICES 25th Anniversary NYC Symposium, entitled “Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future.” The event reflects on the legacy of 9/11 and carries forward the lessons learned that continue to shape our future. The three-day symposium convenes distinguished national and international experts who will discuss national security, the long-term needs of victims’ families, survivors and responders, and share knowledge gained in helping communities heal after tragedy.

Secretary Clinton’s participation holds particular significance as the nation approaches this milestone anniversary. As a U.S. Senator representing New York at the time of 9/11, she was deeply involved in the immediate response and recovery efforts in New York City and Washington, DC. In the years that followed, she remained a strong advocate for rebuilding New York City and addressing the long-term health needs of first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero.

We are deeply honored that Secretary Clinton will join us for this important milestone,” said Mary Fetchet, LCSW, VOICES Founding Director and President. “Twenty-five years ago, our lives were forever changed. Secretary Clinton witnessed firsthand the profound impact of 9/11 on our families, New York City, and our nation. Her leadership and dedication were critical in helping the 9/11 Community navigate a path forward, including her efforts to champion the James Zadroga Act. We are looking forward to hearing her personal experience in the aftermath of 9/11 and in the years following as Secretary of State.”

Secretary Clinton will highlight the enduring lessons of September 11 and the extraordinary resilience of individuals and communities in the US and abroad. She will also discuss how those lessons can guide us as we confront emerging challenges and work to build safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.

Nearly 25 years after the horrific events of 9/11, there is so much still to be done to support and honor the survivors, families, and heroes of that day,” said Former Secretary of State and U.S. Senator from New York Hillary Rodham Clinton. “I’m honored to join the Voices Center for Resilience as they continue that vital, and too often thankless, work.”

VOICES 25th Anniversary NYC Symposium will take place September 8–10 at the New York Marriott Downtown Hotel from 9:00am – 5:00pm. The September 8 program, presented in partnership with the Leadership in Counter Terrorism Alumni Association (LinCT-AA) and the International Network Supporting Victims of Terrorism and Mass Violence (INVICTM), will focus on law enforcement, counterterrorism, global security, and preparedness. The September 9 and 10 programs are presented with the support of our 9/11 Community partners bringing together victims’ families, responders, survivors and the individuals and organizations who serve them.

VOICES 25th Anniversary NYC Symposium is held in-person and is available via livestream. Admission is free; registration is required.
