Remembering John McCain

As family and friends gather today to pay their respects to Senator John McCain on what would have been his 82nd birthday, we offer our sincere condolences. In the aftermath of 9/11, Senator McCain demonstrated remarkable leadership and character in supporting the 9/11 families’ quest for the creation of a 9/11 Commission.

At a time when our country was faced with an unimaginable tragedy, and our families suffered an unimaginable loss, he demonstrated inspirational courage. Senator McCain set politics aside to work in a bi-partisan manner with his Congressional colleagues to accomplish their shared goal of making the country a safer place. Senator McCain leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service to our country and the world that will benefit future generations. It was an honor to know him.
