In Response to Uvalde and Buffalo

Once again, our hearts are broken by the recent murders of 19 young children and 2 teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and the 10 innocent individuals who lost their lives in the shooting in Buffalo, New York. We understand the incredible pain, suffering and loss their families and their community must endure.

These tragic events are life changing, first and foremost for the grieving families and friends of those who died. The community is also profoundly impacted, as the ripple effect leaves survivors in shock, law enforcement tasked with responding to the unthinkable, and our nation filled with a sense of disbelief and anger.

When tragedies occur we often feel alone, but ultimately it is the strength of our connections that carries us through. More than ever, we must come together to support one another – to make our community resilient. No matter our views, we must share a common goal of supporting each other.

In response, we are sharing our resources as a means of support for you and your families. We encourage you to use them as a set of tools for discussing these tragedies and understanding their complex emotions.

At this tragic time, all of us at VOICES join you in offering our condolences for those who are grieving. We are available to offer our support in the days, months, and years to come. If you have questions or need assistance, contact our staff at 203-966-3911 or send an email to support@voicescenter.org.
