VOICES Community Preparedness Training: A Victim-Centered Approach to Prepare for, Respond to, and Recover from Tragedy
 
New Canaan, CT – VOICES is pleased to announce a comprehensive Community Preparedness Training, focused on a victim-centered approach to prepare for, respond to, and recover from acts of mass violence and other tragedies. This important event is made possible through the generous grants from the Fairfield County Community Foundation and the New Canaan Community Foundation.

This day-long training aims to equip community stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to address the immediate, short-term, and long-term needs of those impacted by tragedies. Drawing on 22 years of experience, the training will include firsthand accounts, case studies, and lessons learned to guide the planning of a whole community response.
 
The training is intended for a diverse group of community stakeholders, including:
  • Law enforcement
  • Fire service
  • Emergency managers
  • Social service providers
  • Mental health and public health professionals
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  • Faith-based organizations
 
Participants will benefit from a robust curriculum designed to enhance their ability to effectively support victims and their families during and after crises.
