Voices of September 11, Inc. (VOICES) is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who utilize our website or services according to the VOICES Terms of Use. This statement applies with respect to the information that we collect from the VOICES website (the “Website”), located at www.voicesofseptember11.org, including subsections of this Website (e.g. www.voicesofseptember11.org/resources). Amendments to this Privacy Policy will be posted at this URL and will be effective when posted. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies to this Website and will not apply to the websites of other organizations or companies that may be linked on this Website. Your continued use of the Website following the posting of any amendment, modification or change shall constitute your acceptance thereof.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

Registration Data is the property of VOICES, subject to and protected by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. VOICES will not sell, rent, swap, or otherwise disclose your Registration Data to any third party. VOICES maintains a secured area on the Website for transmission of Registration Data, and stores all Registration Data in a private database which is not connected to the Internet.

 

However, should VOICES notify you of any allegation that you have infringed the intellectual property rights of another pursuant to section 512 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and you submit a counter-notice, VOICES reserves the right to send, and you agree that VOICES has your consent to send, a copy of the counter-notice you submit to the original complaining party.

We collect non-personally identifiable information about you in a number of ways, including tracking your activities through your IP address, computer settings, most-recently visited URL or from your mobile or other devices through which you access and use our services. In order to access certain subscriber services and restricted areas (the "Restricted Services") within the Website, VOICES requires that you provide certain identifying information (the "Registration Data") listed in the online registration form. ONLINE PURCHASES AND DONATIONS

When you shop at the VOICES online store or make an online donation using Paypal, you will be asked to provide personal information necessary to fulfill your order or donation such as your name, billing and shipping address, telephone number.  Your personal information will be used as set forth in the section of this Privacy Policy titled: “USE AND SHARING OF INFORMATION.”

 

USE OF IP ADDRESSES

We use your IP Address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer the Website.

CHOICE; OPT OUT

You may opt-out of receiving certain communications during the registration process or by visiting the Account section of the Website and following the appropriate instructions.

 

USER ACCESS TO REGISTRATION DATA COLLECTED

Upon logging into the Website, you may access your Registration Data at any time through the Account section of the Website.

 

STOLEN PASSWORD

If your password is stolen or used without your permission, immediately notify VOICES. Upon notification, VOICES will block attempts to access the Website using the stolen password and VOICES will issue you a new password. You may be unable to access certain services while VOICES processes the password change.

 

CANCELLATION

You may cancel your account at any time through the Account section of the Website. Once VOICES has finished processing the cancellation, VOICES will delete all your Registration Data from its database.

 

NO LIABILITY FOR ACTS OF THIRD PARTIES

Although VOICES will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of the Registration Data, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. VOICES will have no liability for disclosure of Registration Data due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.

 

PUBLIC FORUMS

This Website may make chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or other group conference services available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

 

CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE
