Private Meeting for 9/11 Families with the OCME

On Wednesday, June 2nd, VOICES is hosting a virtual Private Meeting for 9/11 Families with Dr. Barbara Sampson, and her team at the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). The program will include a presentation along with a virtual tour of the DNA lab, and time for participants to ask questions.

Many of you may have attended the meeting hosted by Dr. Sampson in June of 2019, when she updated families on their progress and demonstrated the new advancements in DNA techniques used to identify our loved ones. Recognizing that September is an emotional time, we thought it important for the OCME and her staff to provide another update in advance of the 20th Anniversary.

As you are aware, Dr. Sampson is committed to identifying all of the remains in their possession at the OCME. We are especially grateful for their dedication, and the care and compassion the staff has provided for our families.

We hope this important meeting, will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions about their work and the ongoing identification process.

The event will be held virtually via Zoom:
Wednesday, June 2
1:00pm EST

For those unable to attend, the event will be rebroadcast with a live Q&A.
Thursday, June 3
7:00pm EST

As a reminder, ONLY 9/11 family members are permitted to attend. We would like to reach as many family members as possible, so feel free to forward this invitation to your family members who may be interested in participating. Registration is required.

Our goal is to reach as many families as possible and to encourage participation in this meaningful session with Dr. Sampson and her dedicated team. We ask that you spread the word to other families by forwarding this invitation. If any of you have Facebook groups or other means of communicating with families we would be appreciative of you sharing that information with us.

As always, our staff is available to assist you. Contact Stephanie Landau at, or call the office at 203-966-3911.
