VOICES Annual Remembrance Symposium | 2020

Dear Families and Friends,

As we approach the 19th Anniversary our staff is busy finalizing plans for VOICES 2020 Annual Symposium. The two-day event will be held on September 9 and September 10. Our partners from the American Group Psychotherapy Association will also facilitate peer-to-peer support groups on September 16. All programs are virtual.

As in years past, the symposium will feature presentations by leading experts in the fields of mental health, trauma, bereavement and resiliency. The program will also provide information on issues that are important for the 9/11 community - like the World Trade Center Health Program, the Compensation funds and September 11th Litigation, as well as testimonials from victims' families, responders and survivors who have been impacted by other tragedies.

Our candle lighting ceremony will include a commemoration of the lives of NYPD Police Detective Lou Alvarez, and FDNY firefighter Ray Pfiefer, and the thousands who have died since 9/11. Despite their 9/11-related illnesses they worked alongside countless others to advocate for the permanent reauthorization of the Zadroga Act.

Although we won't be gathering in person, this virtual event will provide an opportunity for those living around the country, and around the world to attend. All are welcome, so help us spread the word!

As the anniversary approaches, our thoughts are especially with the 9/11 community who has become our family over the years. We are very grateful for the generosity of our sponsors who are supporting our annual event. Please contact our office at 203-966-3911 if we can be of assistance. Read more.
