Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to speak on Saturday, September 10th. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Serve as Keynote Speaker at September 11th Commemorative Luncheon

WHAT:
Voices of September 11th (VOICES) is hosting two special "Day of Remembrance" events the weekend of 9/11, for family members, survivors and rescue workers.

On September 10th, VOICES will host its 10th Annual Information Forum which includes panel discussions, presentations by subject matter experts, 9/11 Living Memorial workshops and 9/11 exhibits by several artists. The daylong conference concludes at 5PM. Secretary Janet Napolitano will serve as keynote speaker at 1PM.

On September 11th, VOICES will hold its 10th Anniversary Commemorative Luncheon, following the Commemorative Ceremony at the World Trade Center site. Secretary Hillary Clinton will be the keynote speaker and the luncheon will begin at 1PM.

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will serve as keynote speaker at the 10th Anniversary Day of Remembrance Forum on Saturday, September 10th.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will speak at the Tenth Anniversary Commemorative luncheon on Sunday, September 11th, following the Commemoration Ceremony at the World Trade Center site.

Both Secretary Napolitano and Secretary Clinton will be introduced by VOICES' Founding Director Mary Fetchet.

ABOUT VOICES:
Voices of September 11th (VOICES) was founded in 2001 by 9/11 family members, Mary Fetchet and Beverly Eckert to provide information and a wide range of support services for all those impacted by the attacks on September 11, 2001. Led by Mary Fetchet, a clinical social worker and educator who lost her 24 year old son Brad, VOICES dedicated staff provide continuity of care and facilitate programs that promote resiliency and address the long-term, intergenerational needs of 9/11 families, rescue workers and survivors. In 2006 VOICES launched the 9/11 Living Memorial Project to assist families in the process of creating a meaningful tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost and to document the stories of thousands of rescue workers and survivors at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville, PA.. Today, the 9/11 Living Memorial is an extensive online collection of over 60,000 photographs, written tributes and personal keepsakes contributed by families, so the world will always remember the lives of those lost and the inspirational stories of those who survived. The 9/11 Living Memorial will continue to expand and become a core component of exhibits at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

With offices in Connecticut, New Jersey and Washington, DC, VOICES membership has grown to over 13,000 families living in the United States and abroad. VOICES experienced social workers provide a wide array of support services including case management, support groups, educational programs, workshops and an annual Day of Remembrance Information Forum on September 10th and September 11th Commemorative Luncheon. 9/11 Living Memorial workshops are conducted in communities around the country.
