VOICES seeks volunteers throughout the year to work with our full-time staff – supporting programs, services and special events – including our annual Remembrance Symposium, Always Remember Gala, and Golf Outing. Though special skills are always welcome, the only requirement for volunteers is a desire to assist others and further our mission. Voices Center for Resilience is seeking a Part-Time Event Planner

Voices Center for Resilience is seeking a Part-Time Event Planner in our New Canaan, Connecticut office.

The Event Planner will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with VOICES Executive Director and our team of dedicated staff to coordinate fundraising events that support our innovative mental health programs and wellness initiatives. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated staff. The candidate should be passionate about our mission and interested in expanding your professional expertise to support programs for the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the planning and execution of VOICES fundraising events, including our Annual Gala, Golf Outing, Symposium and Conferences
  • Coordinate Event Committee meetings
  • Plan and coordinate event operations, including supplies, logistics, vendors, etc.
  • Develop and maintain event database, tracking RSVPs and confirming attendees
  • Recruit, manage, and coordinate event participants and volunteers
  • Assist with solicitation and collection of auction items
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree with 5 years of event planning experience, preferably for a non-profit organization
  • Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, attention to detail, oral & written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to anticipate, plan, prioritize and react to changing needs and situations with professionalism and integrity
  • Proficient in M.S. Word and Excel
  • Experience using relational databases
 

This is a part-time, competitively salaried position, based in our New Canaan, CT office. The position includes medical coverage, paid sick time, vacation days, personal days and paid holidays. Voices Center for Resilience Seeks Director of Development

 

Voices Center for Resilience is seeking a Full-Time Director of Development in our New Canaan, CT office.

Voices Center for Resilience (VOICES) is a non-profit organization that provides long-term support services and access to mental health care and resources for thousands of victims’ families, survivors and responders impacted by 9/11. VOICES also leverages its expertise to assist individuals and communities impacted by other tragedies, working with our partners in the United States and abroad.

The Director of Development will work collaboratively with VOICES Executive Director and VOICES Board of Directors, and coordinate with our staff to fundraise for our innovative programs and events. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated staff. The candidate must be passionate about our mission and interested in expanding your professional expertise to help us serve those impacted by tragedy. The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Executive Director and Board to secure major gifts and stewardship plans
  • Develop and implement overall fundraising and public relations strategy
  • Execute annual giving program and fundraising campaigns, including donor cultivation events with a nationally segmented focus
  • Secure financial support through grants and sponsorships
  • Assist in planning annual fundraising events - Gala, Golf Outing and Symposium
  • Manage existing donor relationships and cultivate new donors
  • Broaden awareness of organizational goals
  • Maintain development database and donor acknowledgement letters
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree with 5 years of development and public relations experience, preferably for a non-profit organization
  • Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, attention to detail, oral and written communication
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to anticipate, plan, prioritize and react to changing needs and situations with professionalism and integrity
  • Proficient in M.S. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using relational databases
 

This is a full-time, competitively salaried position, based in our New Canaan, CT office. The Director of Development is expected to travel about 10% of the time. The position includes medical coverage, paid sick time, vacation days, personal days and paid holidays. Voices Center for Resilience Seeks an Innovative Social Worker

 

Voices Center for Resilience (VOICES), formerly known as Voices of September 11th, is seeking an experienced Licensed Social Worker for a unique opportunity to contribute to our expanding support services and programs for victims’ families, responders, survivors and communities impacted by traumatic events.

The social worker will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with VOICES Executive Director and our team of dedicated staff to provide innovative mental health programs and wellness initiatives. The ideal candidate should be passionate about our mission and interested in expanding your professional expertise by working with the individuals and communities we serve.

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and outreach efforts, facilitating virtual support groups, online workshops, and our annual symposium in New York City. Other responsibilities include contributing to the expansion of our partnerships and assisting in the supervision of graduate student social work interns and volunteers. Some evenings are required.

 

The successful candidate is a LSW or LCSW with 4+ years of experience and skills in:

  • Case management, referrals and assessments
  • Facilitation of support groups and peer-to-peer support programs
  • Client and community outreach and partnerships
  • The field of trauma, bereavement, resiliency, and working with individuals impacted by tragedy
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • SIFI training and supervision experience is a plus
