Community Outreach

Almost immediately after the 9/11 attacks, it became clear that family members would need a broad range of support services. VOICES established an innovative approach to providing programs that specifically address the needs of the almost 3,000 families who lost loved ones.

Using social work practices, the VOICES staff provides continuity of care and offers programs that promote resiliency based on an ongoing assessment of members' needs. A relational database was created to better serve family members and to document available resources and services. Information is distributed through VOICES weekly e-newsletter, mailings and an active website.
