VOICES December Highlights

Dear Families and Friends,

Thank you to all who supported VOICES 22nd Anniversary Always Remember Gala. It was a tremendous evening as we celebrated the incredible contributions of our honorees- Alice Greenwald, Congressman Lee Hamilton, and Governor Tom Kean. We are delighted to share some of the highlights below.

I want to thank ASIS NYC for the distinct honor of being recognized as Person of the Year at their annual Luncheon at the Javits Center. Accepting this award was truly a memorable and emotional experience as it caused me to reflect on how the loss of my son Brad motivated me to create VOICES. Yet, no one can do it alone, and I credit my staff, our volunteers and donors for our accomplishments over the past 22 years.

During the month of December we are providing programs that promote well-being during the hustle and bustle of the season. We are welcoming back our longtime friend, Dr. Ken Druck who will present an informative webinar about making the best of the holidays. Additionally, we are hosting VOICES Community Discussion Groups to share ways to find serenity and joy at this often-difficult time of year.

VOICES Annual Appeal is on the way, so be on the lookout among your holiday cards! We are grateful to all who contribute as we renew our commitment to build resilience in the lives of those we serve.

As always, feel free to contact our office if we can be of assistance.

With warm regards,
Mary Fetchet & the VOICES Team

November 9, 2023 | New York Athletic Club

Oh, What a Night! VOICES 2023 Always Remember Gala honorees – Alice Greenwald, Governor Tom Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton – inspired us all with their very moving remarks, further demonstrating the significant contributions they made in the aftermath of 9/11. Doug Hamilton, son of 9/11 Commission Co-Chair Lee Hamilton, accepted the award on his father’s behalf. Broadway singer and actor Ali Ewoldt, accompanied by David Hancock Turner, performed a melody no one will forget! We want to take this opportunity to share photos and a video of a night we will always remember.

Has the US Forgotten 9/11?

As I sit here at the site where the Twin Towers fell, and where thousands of lives were lost in an unfathomable act of evil more than two decades ago, people on TikTok, X and other social media platforms are revering the architect of that massacre, Osama bin Laden. How did we get here?

Twenty-two years after 9/11, many Americans, and people around the world, have forgotten. Read More
