  • VOICES Center for Resilience Hosts Motivational Interviewing Training
    On Tuesday, June 10th VOICES Center of Excellence for Community Resilience is hosting a half-day training on Motivational Interviewing. The training will be held from 1pm to 4pm at the VOICES office, located at 84 Albany Street, New Brunswick, NJ. Emma Shelby, Assistant Director of Wellness and Recovery Services at The Mental Health Association in New Jersey will provide the training. The training is free, but space is limited and reservations are required.

    This year, the college interns for Voices of September 11th will tell their own stories – in addition to the stories they are helping to preserve in the 9/11 Living Memorial Project. This has been a long journey and a collaborative effort that began just months after the attacks when families and others impacted gathered to discuss creating a fitting memorial.

    Every face has a story. When I walked into the In Memoriam exhibition at the 9/11 Memorial for the first time, I was surrounded by faces of people whom I had never met - and yet I knew very well. For the past 7 years, their loved ones have told me their stories, showed me their pictures, and introduced me to their families. The tributes that I have helped them to create in the Living Memorial.
