The City of Plattsburgh Fire Department has somberly announced the line of duty death of retired firefighter and devoted father Scott E. LaFlesh. LaFlesh succumbed to cancer attributed to his efforts in the recovery immediately following 9/11 at Ground Zero. LaFlesh served the City of Plattsburgh honorably for 24 years before retiring in February of 2021 due to his illness. More.

New York Police Department (NYPD) Captain Janelle Sanders died in the line of duty on Sept. 11 following a battle against cancer that developed after her service at the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on Sep. 11, 2001. Capt. Sanders succumbed to her illness on the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks, the NYPD Captains Endowment Association said in a tweet that afternoon. More.
