June is National PTSD Awareness Month – VOICES is hosting a workshop series with Dr. Lisa-Ann Cuccurullo and Dr. Rebecca Matteo and a virtual safe space to discuss your feelings with your peers in our Community Conversations.

June is National PTSD Awareness Month – a time to build awareness about the symptoms and treatment of PTSD and to reduce the associated stigma of this challenging condition. PTSD is brought on by experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event.

May 30 marks the 20th Anniversary of the end of the 9-month rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero. On that day, thousands attended the solemn ceremony where firefighters, law enforcement, and elected officials stood at attention – as the last beam, draped in an American flag was ceremoniously carried up the ramp.

Once again, our hearts are broken by the recent murders of 19 young children and 2 teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and the 10 innocent individuals who lost their lives in the shooting in Buffalo, New York. We understand the incredible pain, suffering and loss their families and their community must endure.

Join us on Tuesday, May 24 at 2:00pm for an insightful panel presentation featuring three distinguished individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to commemorating the lives and the stories of September 11, 2001, and what followed in its aftermath.

This month marks the 20th Anniversary of the closing of the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero. On May 30 at 9:30am the National September 11 Memorial & Museum will commemorate this milestone with a ceremony on the 9/11 Memorial Glade.

Join us on Wednesday, May 11 at 7pm to meet Fred Guttenberg, activist and author of Find the Helpers: What 9/11 and Parkland Taught Me about Recovery, Purpose, and Hope. Fred will speak about his personal journey following the loss of his brother to 9/11-related illness and the loss of his daughter in the Parkland School shooting.
