9/11 Memorial Unveiled during ceremony in New Bern
On Sunday, about 300 people attended the unveiling of the 9/11 memorial at the Firemen's Museum in Downtown New Bern. Officials said the memorial took about a year and a half to install. The replica of the two towers is made of granite and weighs about 25,303 pounds, according to officials. More.
9-11 Officially Observed by WI Schools
School kids in Wisconsin will now officially observe nine-eleven. Governor Evers yesterday signed a new law adding September 11th to the state’s list of special observation days. That puts nine-eleven on the same list as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Susan B. Anthony’s birthday, Environmental Awareness Day, Bullying Awareness Day, and Veterans Day. More.

Among 13 bills Governor Tony Evers signed into Law Thursday, one was prompted by a local superintendent. In October 2021, Altoona Superintendent Heidi Eliopoulos spoke in front of the Wisconsin State Assembly about making 9/11 a special observance day in schools. More.
