Stroudsburg, Monroe County – The number of people reporting September 11th related cancer and illnesses is growing rapidly. The New York Post reports more than 2,500 Ground Zero first responders now have cancer. Dave Carbone of Monroe County is one of them. He recalled that Tuesday morning, "When you pulled up it was like oh my God, where are the buildings? They were gone. It was just a big pile of rubble." More.

Concert raises $75,000 toward 9/11 memorial

A new memorial to 9/11 victims is a step closer to completion, following a successful benefit concert that raised $75,000 for the cause.

The indie-roots band Dispatch, preceded by local artists Caroline Jones and The Ian Murray Band, rocked the house at Garcia's, an intimate venue inside the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. A member of Dispatch, Pete Francis Heimbold, grew up in Riverside and went to Brunswick School. More.

New allegations have emerged from the man described as the 20th 9/11 hijacker, alleging members of the Saudi royal family supported al Qaeda. Zacarias Moussaoui, who pleaded guilty in 2005 to six terror-related charges, makes the allegations in a sworn statement contained in a brief submitted Tuesday as part of an ongoing civil case by the families of 9/11 victims.
