The 9th Annual John and Sylvia Resta Memorial Golf Outing will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at Pebble Creek Golf club in Colts Neck, NJ. The event begins at 8:00 am and the money raised will benefit the John and Sylvia Resta Memorial fund, to endow Saint John Vianney high school students with a scholarship.

Lou Ann Eckert-Lynch, the Scholarship Commitment Chair for the Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation, asked that we update you on their scholarship program. The Foundation awards college scholarships to the children of New York City Firefighters, victims of September 11, 2001 and victims of other disasters and fires. Cathy Ong-Herrera asked that we share with you the exciting news that the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department Commission has voted unanimously to name their newly renovated recreation center the "Betty Ann Ong Chinese Recreation Center." Betty Ann was the flight attendant who first reported the hijacking of American Airlines Flight 11. The renaming of the center honors the memory of Betty Ann Ong and all who sacrificed their lives on September 11th.

VOICES Executive Director Mary Fetchet was honored to represent VOICES at the Clinton Global Initiative. The CGI Annual Meeting is an invitation-only event held each September in New York City for heads of state, chief executives of companies, directors of major nonprofits, and other global leaders. For four days, members make new connections and share insights and ideas. They learn about creative approaches taken by organizations around the world. They hear from inspiring speakers who come from different sectors, different countries, and different points of view.
