In this workshop we will learn a basic style of Buddhist meditation (no beliefs required!), consider how meditation can bring new perspective, and contemplate ways to bring greater wisdom, skill, and kindness into our lives. The session will include both initial meditation instruction and a brief introduction to practices that cultivate kindness and openness.

This weekend there will be Memorial Day parades in communities throughout the United States paying tribute to our veterans and the brave men and women who died serving our country. In our town, the high school band will play and sports teams, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Indian Princesses and their dads march.

This Sunday marks Mother's Day, a day to remember our mothers and reflect on the important role mothers play in shaping the lives of children. This is always an emotional time for those who have lost their mothers, children who have lost parents and parents who have lost children.

The Anne Frank Center USA and Voices of September 11th will co-host a 4-session diary writing workshop beginning in May. We hope you will join us! The workshop will be taught by Maureen McNeil, Director of Education, at the Center's gallery, located at 44 Park Place, two blocks north of the 9/11 Memorial.

Tomorrow marks one year since the death of Osama bin Laden. Many have expressed that last year's breaking news caused a whirlwind of emotions, from shock and relief to reminders of the heartbreaking loss that we suffered, both individually and collectively as a nation. As we learned more about the mission, we felt a deep admiration for the brave Navy SEALs who conducted the military operation and an indebtedness to those who dedicate their lives every day to fighting the war on terrorism.

The Anne Frank Museum and Voices of September 11th will co-host a 4-session diary writing workshop beginning in May. We hope you will join us! The workshop will be taught by Maureen McNeil, the Director of Education at the new Anne Frank Center Gallery, located at 44 Park Place, four blocks north of the 9/11 Memorial. The workshop will be held on 4 consecutive Tuesday's from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Tuesday, May 15, 22, 29 and June 5th.

This week the Oklahoma City community is gathering together to remember their loved ones who tragically died in the bombing of the Murrah building seventeen years ago. The 9/11 families have always had a strong bond with the families and survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing. In the aftermath of 9/11, these kind individuals immediately travelled to New York City to offer our families their sympathy and support.

We have been asked to invite you to participate in a special ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial on Wednesday May 2nd to honor veterans and, in particular, those who have lost their lives in serving our country. This ceremony will be part of a 1,700 mile walk that will begin at West Point on May 1st and conclude n Dallas, Texas on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
